It’s not for everyone (and that’s okay)
You might have seen big promises online – “limitless income”, fancy cars and so on. That’s not what this page is about. I’d rather you decide calmly and honestly whether Avon fits your life, personality and money goals.
As you go through the checklist below, notice how many times you catch yourself thinking “Yes, that sounds like me” versus “Hmm… not really”. There’s no right or wrong answer – it’s just information for you.
If you end up with a mix of yes and no, that’s normal too. We can always talk it through together.
1. Your lifestyle & time
Avon works best as a small but steady part of your week. It doesn’t need to take over your life, but it does need a little regular attention.
Tick any that feel true for you:
- I can find 2–5 hours most weeks for messages, deliveries and catching up with customers.
- I’d be happy to talk to friends, family and a few new people about products I genuinely like.
- I like the idea of building something slowly and steadily, rather than chasing quick wins.
- I’m okay with the idea that some weeks will be busier than others – that’s life.
2. Your personality
You don’t have to be loud or super confident to be good at Avon. In fact, some of the best reps are the quieter, thoughtful ones who really listen.
Does any of this sound like you?
- I’m generally friendly and approachable, even if I’m not the most outgoing person in the room.
- I like helping people choose things that suit them (colours, scents, skincare, gifts).
- I’m not keen on pushy sales tactics, and I wouldn’t want anyone using them on me either.
- I’m willing to learn as I go – I don’t need to feel perfect before I start.
If you’re kind, honest and patient, you already have the foundations of a good representative. We can work on the rest together.
3. Your money expectations
Let’s talk about the bit everyone secretly wants to know: money. Avon can absolutely help your budget – but it works best when your expectations match the effort you can put in.
Healthy expectations ✅
- “I’d love to cover a bill or two each month.”
- “A bit of extra money for treats or kids’ activities would really help.”
- “If I enjoy it, I’m open to gently building it up over time.”
- “I know income can go up and down – that’s okay.”
Red flag expectations ⚠️
- “I need to replace a full-time wage in the next few weeks.”
- “I want lots of money without talking to many people.”
- “I’m hoping this will fix all my money worries quickly.”
4. When Avon might not be the right fit
Sometimes the kindest thing I can say is “Not just now” – because I’d rather you avoid extra stress than take something on that will weigh you down.
Avon might not be the best option if:
- You currently feel completely overwhelmed and can’t see where even an hour a week would fit in.
- You hate the idea of chatting to people about products, even in a gentle, friendly way.
- You’re hoping for a very quick fix to big financial problems.
- You know you’d resent it if you needed to chase people for payments or orders.
If some of these are hitting home, that doesn’t mean you’re a failure – it just means Avon might not be the right tool for right now. There are other ways to earn that might fit you better.
So… what did your checklist say?
Maybe you’ve ticked lots of “yes” boxes. Maybe you’re somewhere in the middle. Either way, the next step doesn’t have to be scary or complicated.
If you’re thinking “I can see how this might work”, we can have a quick, no-pressure chat about your situation, time and goals. I’ll answer your questions honestly and you can decide from there.
If you’re thinking “I’m not sure”, that’s fine too. Asking questions doesn’t mean you’re signing your life away – sometimes it just helps to talk it through with someone who’s already doing it.
Either way, my job is to give you clear information and support, not to push you into anything.
